CFC Presents, The Million Mile Bike Ride 2017
Million Mile Bike Ride is a unique year long campaign to encourage all supporters and fundraisers to contribute their cycling miles to collectively ride 1,000,000 miles throughout 2017. In doing so we want to raise £250,000 to support 21 Children’s Oncology units throughout the UK.
We have teamed up with Everyday Hero and Strava to utilise the latest fundraising software to track and collate your ride information automatically.
This may be miles generated from training for an event, commuting or just for fun with the family. Regardless of why you are taking part, what type of bike you are riding or how far you ride, we want your miles and for you to fundraise for us.
Where can I ride?
You can choose where and when you ride. This maybe to the shops and back, a commute to work or even an event. Don’t forget to ride with friends and family as well, it will be a great excuse to clock up more miles whilst having fun!

Who benefits from MMBR?
CFC helps children and young people across the UK who are living with and beyond cancer.
Fatigue, physical weakness, amputations, low self-esteem, poor balance and coordination issues are just some of the many side effects experienced by children with cancer. Exercise is an effective way to improve both physical and mental well-being during treatment and into recovery.
Money raised will be used to provide equipment and services to promote exercise and physical activity from cancer diagnosis, through treatment and through rehabilitation and beyond.
The services and equipment funded will specific to the unit’s specific requirements and the individual child’s needs, for example;
- Bikes, trikes, static exercise bikes, turbo trainers etc.
- Specialist rehabilitation equipment.
- Personal Training consultations and group exercise classes.
