Here are some of the ways that the money raised by our supporters is being used...

Luke Harrison

In March 2008, aged just six years old, Luke Harrison was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). He has had a tough time since his treatment started and spent the first three months in hospital. Now back at home with his family Luke is regaining strength and balance. Because they all love riding Luke's family applied for a tag-a-long from Cyclists Fighting Cancer. The award means that Luke and his family can all get out and about together. This award was funded by Pertemps Recruitment in Birmingham though the payroll giving scheme. Any organisation can join

Alice Marples

Alice Marples is a 4 year brain tumour survivor, CFC funded the award of a tandem for Alice as her vision was affected by treatment leaving her unable to ride solo and a new bike for her sister Emily so that the family could enjoy rides together.

Here's what her Mum and Dad, Nick and Sarah had to say about CFC's award.

"We took the tandem out on Saturday and after an initially wobbly first fifteen seconds we were off. After a couple of minutes I called back to Alice to ask if she was alright and she responded, "Brilliant! I feel so alive" which sums it up really. Emily came on the ride also and she too is absolutely thrilled with her new bike.

I cannot even begin to tell you how much we are enjoying the weekend cycle rides together. We continue to be so very grateful to you and your charity for these wonderful gifts."

Freya Bland

Freya Bland was just two years old when her life was affected by acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL),a cancer of the white blood cells. Her treatment has, at times, been really tough but she has battled through and, though she remains on maintenance treatment until next July, is regaining strength.

Having a bike helps Freya regain balance and co-ordination as well as allowing her to play with her siblings.

Sophie Eggerton

Sophie Eggerton was diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was eight years old. She had extensive chemo and an operation to remove the tumour and battled back to health. The severity of her treatment left her with limited mobility in her legs.

Cyclists Fighting Cancer was able to fund the provision of a specially adapted trike which aids her recovery and allows her to play outside with her friends.
